Summer Fun!

Summer season is almost here! The countdown to end of school year is on, the days are longer, the sprinklers are on, the ice cream truck is rolling by.

Soon school will be over, and all of us parents out there will be scratching our heads for ways to keep our kids entertained for a few months.

Aside from the obvious camp option (and ps: Kidnasium has summer camp available with a new theme every week), there are other at-home options available for those in-between weeks when you decided not to opt in for camp:

  1. Grab a few flashlights out of the shed or garage, and play a good game of flashlight tag in your backyard. The kids will be giggling with laughter, and this will definitely go down in the memory bank!

  2. Tents are not just for the woods! Pitch a tent in your living room, set up pillows and blankets, and see how delighted they will be to play in and out of this make-believe structure.

  3. Grab a $2 jump rope and hop and skip your way down the driveway! And if you’ve got multiple kids and hands available, you can even teach them to do double-dutch!

  4. Pack up the car, a few blankets, some snacks and drive out to the country side and gaze at the stars! See the big dipper, the little dipper and even Orion’s belt! Teach them about shooting stars, the moon and the grandness of the universe.

  5. Dust off your artistic skills and create beautiful sidewalk chalk art alongside your kids.

  6. Turn on the sprinklers, get in your bathing suits, and jump, skip, run through the spraying water on a hot summer's day.

  7. And then get some ice cream! Always, get some ice cream!
