Kidnasium Programs that Support Neurodiversity

Every child has the right to access our programs and play

We want every child who enters our space to feel confident and happy. We recognize the needs of children with neurodiversity and are committed to supporting them in accessing our programs and our play.

  • Sensitive Sensory Drop In Play

A Welcoming, Calm Space for All to Enjoy!

Our goal is to make sure all children, with all abilities, have a stress-free space to play that is not overwhelming or overstimulating. We will:

keep attendance at maximum 10 kids to allow for adequate space

    lower the music

dim the lights by 50 percent

provide equipment such as yoga balls or wobble boards to better support movement and learning.

Sensitive Sensory Drop In Play is available at both of our locations!

  • After-School & Preschool Programs

In these programs, we are committed to working with the families of neurodiverse children to accommodate their unique needs. More specifically, we provide:

    • Visual schedules

    • Timers

    • Sensory-friendly equipment such as yoga balls or wobble boards, to better support children to focus and learn

    • Additional movement and play opportunities to support participation in group activities

    • Dedicated coaches who have experience working with children with ASD

    • Increased individual attention and staff support.

  • 1:1 Private Classes

In our 1:1 private classes, our experienced coaches will work with the needs and varying abilities of each individual child to make our Kidnasium programming accessible to them.

Together, with the families, we establish a path forward that supports children with varying sensory needs to develop their movement abilities and ultimately enhance their physical and developmental skills.

Ultimately, we put into practice these strategies to build incremental progression with each class, guided by the Kidnasium program curriculum, and our guiding principle of learning through play.

If you have any questions, concerns or additional needs you wish us to consider, please email us at hello@kidnasium.ca.
