We are seeking an enthusiastic Children's Fitness, Sports and/or Wellness Instructors to coach parent and tot, and independent children's classes (0-6 years old). The applicant should have experience working with young children and strong communication skills with both parents and children. Applicants with a background in education or child development is an asset.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist manager and director of operations with lesson plan development based on club direction
  • Coach children's fitness, sports and/or wellness programs
  • Motivate children and maintain a positive and fun atomosphere
  • Ensure student progression and achievement of goals
  • Light maintenance duties and route setting. This position holds a high level of responsibility within the day-to-day operations of the centre and must demonstrate an exemplary level of customer service.

+ Early Childhood Educator

Job description

Kidnasium is an innovative multi-dimensional company dedicated to helping raise healthy, happy kids. We are currently looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and creative Early Childhood Educator who is driven to positively impact the lives of children.

Candidates must be available to start immediately as one of our incredible child care team members and lead for our preschool recreational classes (including parent and tot classes). Candidates must be available Monday to Friday 8:45-12:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Understands and complies with provincial, municipal and Kidnasium’s Child Guidance Policies
  • Plans and implements a consistent, high-quality child-centered program in accordance with Kidnasium’s kinesthetic-based curriculum. Planning and teaching should support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Plan and maintain a high-quality environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
  • Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • Participates in and applies knowledge from research to children's learning
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Support children in the development of their self-help skills and independence
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required
  • Work in partnership to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials. Staff will follow Kidnasium health and safety protocols and procedures to clean and sanitize all child care spaces, focusing on frequently touched surfaces, equipment, toys and any other areas or items deemed necessary
  • Identifies the indicators of abuse and is prepared to report signs of child abuse to the Child Protection Services
  • Demonstrates appropriate behaviours in line with our Mission, Vision and Values as reflected in our Kidnasium competencies
  • Adheres to work schedule to ensure the program stays within ratio and provides required adequate notice to supervisor regarding unexpected scheduling changes

Qualifications & Experience

  • RECE or ECA Certification – must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of ECE
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with young children
  • A passion for working with children
  • To be reliable, punctual, and responsible
  • Strong interpersonal skills to gain trust and respect of children and their parents
  • A team player attitude
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; maybe exposed to heat, humidity or cold
  • Commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment responding with sensitivity and personal awareness to the diverse needs of members including visible and non-visible dimensions of diversity
  • Experience in planning and implementing programs.
  • A current Criminal Check & Vulnerable Sector screening
  • Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR
  • Current immunization and health assessment as per the local Minister of Health Requirements

Anywhere from 4 to 30 hours per week, depending on availability, suitability for various classes; As well, based on mobile class demand

Salary:

$20-$30 based on experience and qualifications as well based on location, as some classes will be held on site, and some mobile.

Experience:

Knowledge of gymnastics, dance, tumbling, physical/fitness training, (or other equivalents), working with children, leading children into games and/or physical activities are an asset;

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach recreational and/or competitive gymnastics classes (including parent and tot);
  • Work with groups of 5-10 children;
  • Work in a dynamic environment;
  • Train athletes and assist in plan development based on club direction
  • Ensure athlete progression and achievement of goals
  • Work in collaboration with all coaching staff to develop athletes and ensure club success
  • Develop lesson plans
