Bad Parenting Advice

There are so many ways to parent our kids, and the world is still divided on this subject. There’s tough discipline, gentle parenting approaches, and many other forms in between. 

All this being said, the notion that we should be “hard on our kids to prepare them for a harder world” is fundamentally incorrect. And here’s why.

At the core, parenting is all about creating a secure bond between you and your child. And the way this shows up is through consistent, unconditional love and nurturing them to create a safe space for them to land. So when they do go out in the world, and run into tough situations that will be hard for them, which will happen, they will have a safe place to land. They need to know there is a place to go where they will receive unconditional love, support and understanding.
