Welcome to our Kid's Fitness Academy

 Our fitness programs provide a fun, safe and rewarding play-based environment to enjoy being active. Our aim is to foster a love of movement, by building children’s confidence and physical strength. We want all kids to develop a lifelong passion for physical activity while developing important physical literacy skills at an early age.

Gym Skills

Play & Discover 1 | 10-18 months

This caregiver and tot program provides an active environment for children to explore gross and fine motor movement patterns and exploratory play. The class will consist of musical circle activities, highlight stations of the week, and free exploration. Instructors will introduce a new skill every one to two weeks (to increase repetition and familiarity for the parent/caregiver and child). Coaches will show each parent/caregiver how different areas of the gym can be used to develop the skill of the week.

Sample Elementary Movement Skills: Standing stations, cruising stations, log rolls, front rolls (spotted), swings (spotted), and a multitude of stations to develop fine and gross motor skills. Please note that this is not a formal follow the leader class, however, we do teach stations to educate parents and caregivers about introductory movement skills and how to safely navigate the gym.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 10-18 months | Adult Participation: Yes

Dance Based Movement Education

Move with Me | 16 - 24 months:

Move with Me is a dance class that offers a unique bonding experience for an adult and child. Through creative play, we hope that each tiny dancer will have fun, enjoy interacting with their caregiver and other children, and explore movement with props. It is our goal for each child to successfully complete the class with refined gross motor skills, improved movement fundamentals and a joyful experience with their loved one.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 18 months - 2.5 years | Adult Participation: Yes

Lil' Movers Caregver & Tot | 2 - 4 years:

Lil’ Movers provides an independent introductory class into the wonderful world of dance. Dancers will have the opportunity to develop their dance foundation, explore their creativity through dance games and experience moving with various props. Our goal is for each child to have fun, develop their creative skills and explore the fundamentals of dance. We hope that each creative mover who walks (or dances) through our door will leave with a lifelong love for dance.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 2-4 years | Adult Participation: Yes

Lil' Movers Independent | 3 - 4.5 years:

Lil’ Movers provides an independent introductory class into the wonderful world of dance. Dancers will have the opportunity to develop their dance foundation, explore their creativity through dance games and experience moving with various props. Our goal is for each child to have fun, develop their creative skills and explore the fundamentals of dance. We hope that each creative mover who walks (or dances) through our door will leave with a lifelong love for dance.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 3-4.5 years | Adult Participation: Yes

 

Zumbini Caregiver & Tot | 4 & Under:

For our youngest Zumba enthusiasts, this caregiver and tot class promotes moving, grooving, growing, and bonding for you and your little one. Give your little one a happier and more enjoyable start to healthy living. The class will not only nurture their love of music and movement but give you the chance to nurture your inner child as well. With expertly combined music, dance, and educational tools, the 45 minutes of bonding will develop skills such as emotional development, cognitive development, balance, and rhythm.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 0-4 years | Adult Participation: Yes

Zumba Kids 1 | 4 - 6 years:

Perfect for younger Zumba fans, this class allows our 4-6 age group to participate in high-energy, kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba choreography. The steps are expertly broken down to incorporate games, activities, and cultural exploration in order to promote healthy lifestyles and to develop skills such as respect, discipline, teamwork, confidence, self-esteem, memory, balance, creativity, coordination, and cultural awareness.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 4-6 years | Adult Participation: No

Zumba Kids 2 | 6 - 9 years:

A little more advanced than the junior level, this class allows our 6-9 age group to participate in slightly more complex, but still, kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba choreography. The steps are expertly broken down to incorporate games, activities, and cultural exploration in order to promote healthy lifestyles and to develop skills such as leadership, respect, discipline, teamwork, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, and cultural awareness.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 6-9 years | Adult Participation: No

Tween Zumba | 9 - 12 years:

As our most advanced level, this class allows our 9-12 age group to participate in even more complex, kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba choreography. The steps are expertly broken down to incorporate games, activities, and cultural exploration in order to promote healthy lifestyles and fitness as a natural part of life. This class will continue to develop skills such as leadership, respect, discipline, teamwork, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, and cultural awareness.

NEW! Rock Climbing Classes

Beginners | 4-9 years:

This program teaches children ages 4 to 9 years all of the fundamentals of rock climbing through Bouldering. They will have a blast learning the basics and of course, doing lots of rock climbing! Climbers will learn specific climbing techniques, movements, and flexibility. They will focus on strength and endurance, understanding body positioning, and practicing safe landing techniques. All climbers will be climbing at low elevations to foster self-confidence and skill progression.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Adult Participation: No

Intermediate | 4-9 years:

This program teaches children ages 10 to12 years all of the fundamentals of rock climbing through Bouldering. They will have a blast learning the basics and of course, doing lots of rock climbing! Climbers will learn specific climbing techniques, movements, and flexibility. They will focus on strength and endurance, understanding body positioning, and practicing safe landing techniques. All climbers will be climbing at low elevations to foster self-confidence and skill progression.

Intermediate | 10-12 years:

If your child has been rock climbing since September, this program will keep them engaged for sure! Rock climbing will continue to be taught through Bouldering. They will have a blast increasing their climbing knowledge of the basics and of course doing lots of rock climbing! Climbers will continue to improve climbing techniques, movements, and flexibility. They will focus on strength and endurance, understanding body positioning, and practicing safe landing techniques. All climbers will be climbing at low elevations to foster self-confidence and skill progression.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Adult Participation: No

Advanced | 4-9 years:

This program really pushes the fundamentals of rock climbing through Bouldering. Your child will focus on strength holds and techniques to improve their endurance and of course, do lots of rock climbing! Climbers will perfect specific climbing techniques, movements, and flexibility. They will also continue to focus on strength and endurance, understanding body positioning, and practicing safe landing techniques. All advanced climbers will be climbing at low elevations to foster self-confidence and skill progression.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Adult Participation: No

Advanced | 10-12 years:

Combining a blend of elements from gymnastics, ninja, and various body-resistance training techniques, Family CrossFit is perfect for families with children 4 years and older to get fit and have fun. Its high energy, engaging and fun exercises and activities will motivate your family to beat each other’s records and bond as a family while developing athletic ability.

Class Length: 45 minutes | Ages: 4 & under | Adult Participation: Yes

Kids CrossFit | 6 - 9 years:

This program combines the perfect blend of elements from gymnastics, ninja, and various body-resistance training techniques to create the ultimate fitness program for kids. Its high energy, engaging and fun exercises and activities will motivate your child to beat their best records and further develop their athletic abilities.

Sample Exercises & Activities: squats, push-ups, pull-ups (assisted), running, sprinting, jumping, climbing

Tween CrossFit | 9 - 12 years:

This program combines the perfect blend of elements from gymnastics, ninja, and various body-resistance training techniques to create the ultimate fitness program for tweens. Its high energy, engaging and fun exercises and activities will motivate your child to beat their best records and further develop their athletic abilities.

Family CrossFit | 4 & Up:

Extreme Fitness For Kids

Participants will have fun engaging in a variety of exciting and high-energy fitness programs. Each week offers new movement activities from rock wall climbing to ninja obstacle courses to dynamic gymnastics skills and more; kids will love this program in our ultimate fitness and wellness centre for kids.
